Air compressors are motorized devices that suck in air and compresses it. The compressed air is then stored in a tank for upcoming use. The compresses air takes up a smaller amount space then if it was in a ordinary state. The tanks is to store the compressed air thus resisting the external force.

There are a couple dissimilar types of air compressors. Several are oil lubricated along with some are not. The non lubricated air compressors are recognized as "oil-free compressors". One disadvantage is that oil-lubricated compressors require their oil be changed after certain periods of time.

Most models for sale are used for home based uses. Some business that are transportable like carpenters will use a portable air compressor. A few permanent air compressors are the size of a small room and of course not movable. These compressors are not planned to be moved.
